FOTO Fall River Clean-Up - Saturday, October 1, 2022 Canceled and Rescheduled

The Fall Occoquan River Cleanup for October 1, 2022, is canceled.

FOTO regrets to announce to the 324 volunteers who signed up for the Saturday cleanup event that it has been canceled due to the expected heavy rains, both Friday and Saturday. It would make it too difficult for volunteers to go around by boat and on foot.
We have rescheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2022, from 9:00 am to noon, at the same five locations.

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who want to make a difference, and FOTO hopes to see you again soon.

A new flyer will be sent to all volunteers and organizations.

Thank you!

The FOTO Team

Friends of the Occoquan Fall River Clean Up 2022 Another Success!

Among the 342 volunteers who had signed up for FOTO's fall River cleanup, 128 devoted volunteers participated in the rescheduled cleanup on October 15, 2022. Regardless, 168 bags of recyclables and trash were removed, including a rusted chair, iron beams, pillows, buckets, and several seat cushions. The soccer & petite balls were cleaned and recycled by a volunteer. 18 tires across from Fountainhead Park will be removed at a later day. American Water % Fairfax County employees, Ner Shalom Synagogue members, South County Key Club, Boy Scout Troop 1369, Forest Park High School, Purple Star Wolf Club of Lake Ridge Middle School, NoVAGo kayakers, George Mason Powerlifting Club, and many families with their children are the RIVER HEROES. Kudos go out to all the fantastic volunteers, park managers, station managers, and our sponsors.
