FALL CLEANUP-SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2005
277 VOLUNTEERS PICKED UP 3 TONS OF TRASH
Due to heavy rain on October 8 the cleanup date was moved to October 15.
This event turned out to be a tremendous success and we want to thank all the volunteers who helped in this effort to preserve the Occoquan River, source of our drinking water. Also the following organizations participated: Northern Virginia Park Authority, Prince William Park Authority, Town of Occoquan, Fairfax County Water Authority, Virginia Department of Transportation ( Lake Ridge Office), Occoquan Watershed Coalition, Lake Braddock Crew, Bull Run Rotary Club, Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, Fairfax County – Storm Water Planning Division, Woodbridge HS JROTC (LTC Mathews, SGM Neely and SFC Elliott), Lake Braddock Secondary School, South County Secondary School, Osborne Park HS, Godwin Middle School, Stonewall Jackson HS, Brownie Troops 1023 and 1504, Prince William Academy, Old Bridge Observer, Potomac News and Washington Post.
