Making a Difference: FOTO’s 2007 Spring Cleanup of the Occoquan Watershed
PRINCEWILLIAMCOUNTY, VA: On Saturday April 14, 2007 the Friends of the Occoquan conducted their Spring Cleanup of the Occoquan Watershed. Over 199 volunteers combed the banks of the OccoquanRiver picking up 5,500 pounds (2.8 Tons) of trash and other debris. There were a total of 56 tires collected, including 37 collected at the Occoquan Regional Park/Marina. Following is a detail of attendance and debris collected. Odd items: life vest, record player, and an old baseball with plant growing out of it.
